Description: REDUCING THE THREAT OF EMPLOYMENT CLAIMS: PROTECTIVE PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES
Employment claims are won or lost before the hiring or firing decisions are made. The care and preparation that underlie daily employment practices- policies, procedures, and forms that are used regularly and automatically- are usually what make the difference between liability, on one hand, and claim avoidance or a successful defense, on the other. This presentation is thus less about employment "laws" than about the development of practices, procedures, forms and other tools for maintaining employer protection in human resources management, with a focus on elements in the hiring process.
