Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association
 The Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association (LCFHRA) is one of 550 affiliate chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and has served New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick Counties since 1968. We are a non-profit volunteer organization. Membership is open to all Human Resource professionals or college faculty, as well as undergraduate and graduate students in business, human resources, industrial relations or areas of business related to the field of human resource management.
Core Principles
As the local chapter affiliate of SHRM, we feel strongly about our commitment to the national organization, and have adopted their Core Principles as our own. We believe in adding value to those we serve by modeling the principles of Professional Responsibility, Professional Development, Ethical Leadership, Integrity, Fairness, and Justice.
Our Mission
The mission of the Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association is to "Advance the Profession" and "Serve the Professional". We are committed to supporting our members by effectively communicating information specific to leading trends in business, workplace legislation, and the HR field in order to strengthen core competencies, develop strategic HR leadership skills, and build proactive workplace practices that have positive impacts on businesses and in our communities.
We do this by working hard to bring our members:

- Daily online SHRM News-feeds;
- Timely updates on workplace legislation;
- Opportunity for online Discussion Forums;
- Professional Networking Events;
- And, cost-effective HRCI approved PHR and SPHR Certification Courses, as well as annual Re-certification opportunities;
